A 'Future' is a contract to buy or sell the underlying asset for a specific price at a pre-determined time

Thus it is forward contract which is a derivative type of instrument in which buyer and the seller are agreed to transact set of financial instrument/ Physical commodities for future at a particular price i.e. if you buy a futures contract, that means you promise to buy something that a seller has not yet produced at a particular price and specific time.

If you are entering in future market it is not compulsory that you will have to liable for receiving any delivery (in case of commodities). This is why futures contracts are known as financial instrument.

In now a dys the cricketing fever is growing up and the traders not taking interest in trading but in this week nifty and sensex market have made their own height, so basically with the growing global popularity of cricket, traders interest in cricket-related products from SMEs (small and medium enterprises) has more than doubled in the past year, a study said.

Online searches from buyers all over the world for cricket-related products jumped by 130 per cent between February, 2010, and January 2011.

Indian suppliers received 49.60 per cent of enquiries from cricketing countries like the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, New Zealand and Pakistan.

Around 12 per cent of the global enquiries came from prospective buyers in countries such as the USA, China and Singapore, all traditionally non-cricket playing nations, the report said.

"The data that we have is extremely interesting and presents an attractive business opportunity for Indian SMEs engaged in production of cricketing gear. SMEs can now explore markets such as the USA and China where the International Cricket Council (ICC) has been actively promoting cricket." According to the search data.

According to the search data, countries such as the United Kingdom, China, Pakistan and United States are the major competitors for Indian sellers of cricketing products.

"Searches from global buyers for cricket products manufactured by Indian SMEs has increased significantly during major international cricket tournaments," According to the search data.

Global buyer searches for cricket products from India grew by 46.1 per cent in August, 2010, a month before Indian franchises participated in the T20 Champions League.

Similarly, searches in January, 2011, saw 34 per cent growth prior to the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup , which began earlier last month.

Cricket products that buyers are looking for include cricket bats and balls, which account for a significant percentage of the buyer searches, followed by cricket bat stickers, jerseys and other cricket wear.

Japanese crisis impact of the on both the Indian economy and equity market to be limited in the medium to long term.
India`s exports are highly diversified across regions. Our exports to Japan accounts for little less than 2% of total exports and the share of Japan in India`s cumulative FDI inflow has been mere 4% between April 2000 and December 2010.
Japanese companies have JVs with 4 Indian steel companies.``Considering the frequency and intensity of earthquakes in Japan, we expect Japan to increase it direct investments - especially in the steel sector - in India going forward. About one-third of Japan`s Gross National Product is coming from the Japanese companies located outside Japan.
The economic loss in Japan is estimated to be around USD 200 billion, which we believe is manageable as compared to the GDP of Japan which stands at around USD 5,069 billion - compare this loss with the bail-out packages post global financial turmoil, which was more than USD 1 trillion! We believe that the global economy including Japan would be able to manage it successfully. There could be recession in Japan, but our domestic economy, which is largely driven by the domestic demand story can overcome this crisis successfully.
International crude oil prices have moderated. If crisis in the Middle East subsides, crude oil price can crash land to less than USD 90/bbl.
So at the last the Japanese crisis doesn't impact too much in our Indian economy.

The Indian indices Sensex and Nifty dropped over 1% during the week after a surge last week. Financial markets got hammered amid increasing concerns about global growth derailment, continued Libya fear and Japan quake. Further disappointing macroeconomic data, together with Moody`s downgrade to Spain`s credit rating, posed further threats to market confidence.   However, the bulls chose to ignore the positive domestic economic data like the better than estimated IIP numbers, strong exports and sharp fall in food inflation.

The 30 share index, Sensex plunged 312.36 points, or 1.69% to 18,174.09 in the week ended March 11. On the other hand, the broad based NSE Nifty dropped 93.3 points, or 1.68% to 5,445.45 in the same period.

Mid-cap index declined by 62.84 points, or 0.95% to 6,529.28 in the week. Small-cap index too dipped 99.18 points, or 1.24% to 7,899.81 during the week.

Key losers over the week were BSE Capital goods (3.03%), Metal (2.9%), Bankex (2.02%), Auto (1.7%), Power (1.6%), IT (1.28%), Teck (1.14%), Healthcare (1.07%), PSU (0.64%), Consumer Durable (0.49%) and FMCG (0.48%) during the week. However BSE Realty and Oil & gas gained 1.26% and 0.72% respectively over the week.

Industrial growth for the month of January, 2011 stood at 3.7% compared to 16.8% expansion in the year-ago period, dragged down by the poor performance of the manufacturing sector, particularly capital goods.

Food inflation declined to single digit after nearly 3 months helped by fall in prices of potatoes, pulses and wheat. It fell to 9.52% for the week ended February 26 from 10.39% last week. Meanwhile, primary inflation dropped 13.96% for the week ended February 26 from 14.85% previous week.
